UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF DOMAIN NAMES

In other to save you the trouble of understanding technical terms, I am going to use analogy to illustrate to you, the meaning of domain name. Whether you are standing right now, or sitting down, or lying, you can be located at the spot where you are with an address of yours. The address makes sense because every structure is founded on land. From the land we can get the address, and get to you. HOOLA! That is domain name and that is all you need to understand in order to be successful in this business.

Now unlike the land, the internet works in space electronically. Therefore, the domain is the land and the name is the address. So, if the name of your website is NameTray  just as your physical address may be No. 15 St. Louis Avenue, you will be required to tell us the city and country before we can locate you.
Your country or city as far as internet is concerned may be .com, .org., .net, etc. Hence we have Nametray.com. Note this, just as cities differs in attracting people to themselves for any reason whatsoever, so it is with these domain. If .com is Los Angelos and .net is Alfghanistan you see you cannot go to warzones and expect that the bullet will not hit. So you go for .com.  Domains in the likes of Los Angelos are called Top Level Domains TLDs. They include country code top level domain like .us, .ng etc. However we are not concerned with them.

Our interest is on the Generic Top Level Domains like .com,.org, .net , . info etc. these shall be our stock in trade as you learn how to make living trading on them. To mention that you trade on them means that it is an industry of its own.  Trust me, by the time get more knowledge in here, your eyes will open, and you will find that is not a small industry.
