Know the Extension

I said before and still maintain that .com is the chief of all domain extensions. Now, some of the online emerging companies, may be so careless to by purchase on the .com extension of their domain. After making a diligent analysis of the type of the company and what they deal in, you may decide to buy the .net, or the.org or .info extension of their domain. It is likely that by the time they grow, they will need it from you in order to all their visitors at the same page. This is most successful especially, if you are dealing with a website that sells product.

Go for competitive Nitche

In a very competitive nitche,

the demand and need for precise domain names is high. For instance, entertainment and news are very competitive areas and fortunately, you can see this premise working out. Just today, I tried to search for news domain buy adding two letter words before the word news. Do you know what, the entire two letter prefixed word for news has been taken. That is arnews.com, abnews.com, etc. There are other interestingly large nitche where you can get a good name that creates impact.

Putting it Together

A simple way that I do it could be illustrated with the following examples. New is a competitive nitche, and ornews.com has already been registered. I go to whois.com to find out the owner and the company. Here is my result

It is owned by Kari. Now who is Kari,( the name Kari can be a company, or even a university) is an award winning movie producer. And ornews is his website. I may buy the .org extension of his website in anticipation that he may produce a super movies tomorrow and his fame will rise. This time, he will need to buy this extension, and he will have enough money to pay.
